Underwater View 2004

33 sq. ft. porcelain relief tile mural is set into a curvilinear concrete retaining wall at the back edge of Margate Park Playground, 4921 Marine Drive, Chicago.  It features underwater life referencing the park's proximity to Lake Michigan.

Sonata Kazimieraitiene, artist assistant, and Peterson held Community Family Workshops in the Margate Fieldhouse to create and paint tiles to integrate into the overall design.  Youth employed by the park district pressed clay into forms.

Jim Brenner, Ginny Sykes, and Roman Villareal also created artwork for the playground.
